Decorate your doll house with clapboards
Decorating the exterior of the doll house is equally important as decorating your interior. You can decorate the exterior by adding clapboard siding, brick to the outside walls. If the exterior of the dollhouse is soothing to eyes, it gives a more realistic look to it. Clapboard siding is available in variety of sizes and designs.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: Varies based on number of rooms.

Here's How:

  • Take the clapboard and place it properly. Draw a line on the end and the back of the clapboard, exactly from where it has to be cut.
  • Do the same with the place where clapboard has to be installed.
  • Cut the clapboard using aa X-Acto miter across the drawn line.
  • After cutting the piece, place it at the intended place to check the size whether it fits or not. Make sure that it fits perfectly.
  • Cut all the pieces accordingly. Continue applying the same method until all the pieces are cut according to the size required for installing the clapboard.

Tips:

  • The two pieces of clapboard should match each other in order to look alike.
  • For a 1-inch scale doll house, 3/8 inch clapboard is preferable. If you are looking for ½ inch doll house, we will recommend you to apply ¼ inch clapboard. If you are thriving for a wider clapboard look, use ½ inch clapboard.
  • Before attaching to the house, smooth the Quick Grip with a small stick to cover the surface of the clapboard completely.
  • While putting the piece on the wall, double check it’s position. Be sure it is in the right position.
  • Always check the top edges for overlap.
